This course is designed to provide basic knowledge and understanding of general principles of electric motor controls. Topics covered include operation of and sizing for manual and remote motor starters and overload heaters and relays, Describing the operation of push buttons, selector switches and pilot devices, Drawing, interpreting schematic/wiring diagrams and performing starting, stopping, jogging, forward/reversing and sequence control circuits. Students will gain knowledge and skills necessary to use electric motor controller technology that can be utilized in a wide range of today’s industrial and commercial applications.
